Make "replace selected item" in indesign stay the way it was - checked or unchecked - when launching again.
When launching indesign, "replace selected item" is always checked, regardless of whether it was unchecked when closing last time. This should stay unchecked if you close with it unchecked, or checked if you close it checked. I've asked for this several times over the past few years but never had any feedback nor any action. It's one of the more annoying features of indesign.

I just updated InDesign and now the "Replace Selected Item" doesn't work.. This is an absolutely necessary feature!!! We make catalogues with tons of pictures.. Every time we update the catalogues, we simply click the frame in the template and the picture changes upon placing.. Are you telling me we now have to place all new frames and resize and reset all the images in the template individually???????????? What would be the point of creating templates in the first place???????? Even if this is not the default setting, the USER should be able to decide whether or not to replace into a selected frame or not.. Please tell me there's a setting option somewhere????

I am certain that if you took a poll of InDesign users, the majority would prefer that "replace selected item" were not the default. It makes no sense in most people's normal work.
