Copy and paste text formatting and shape style using keyboard shortcuts instead of the $%#!! eyedropper
The eyerdropper is a slow solution. Indesign should allow us to copy and paste text formatting and shape style using keyboard shortcuts instead. You select the frame (text/shape), press SHIFT+OPT+C to copy the formatting and then use SHIP+OPT+V to paste it. Much, much faster....

Search features for Paragrapch and Character Style Sheets
I work with very large publications, and sometimes will get them from a previous designer. When making design changes, it's essential to be able to find the old styles throughout the book to make adjustments instead of deleting an entire style and have it reflow everything.

Make break line possible to numbering
When creating a numbered list, I would be able to force a break line after the numbering, as we are able to put tab or spacings

Variables with long definitions to wrap to next line
Currently, variables do not break across lines. I have documents with tables and variables. If the variable has a long definition, I have to shrink the font to get the text to fit in the cell when it could easily wrap to the next line. FrameMaker's variables have this capability. InDesign should be able to do the same. PLEASE!

A much-needed feature is the ability to style a text frame in a thread.
A much-needed feature is the ability to style a text frame in a thread, so that the text flows between frames and takes on the style from the frame in which it is at the moment.

heat transfer printing
Heat transfer printing is a method of decorating surfaces such as fabric or ceramics with designs by using heat and pressure. Such designs are often printed first on special transfer paper which is then applied onto the material to be decorated. This heat adheres this particular design to the upper surface, which makes the finishing look very attractive and long lasting. This is widely used for personalized clothing and giveaways.

Add cell style setting fort column width and row height
We periodically update our older catalogs with newer styles and much of the content is to provide dimensions for parts. Most of the time they have not had a style applied to them. This would be the same as the option already provided when a cell is selected. Being able to select a group of cells and applying a style with column and row height would be helpful.
Its actually the only item that isn't included from the cell options every other option is already available.

Free time
I’ve been interested in online gaming for a while, so I decided to try out some online casinos. I was looking for one that offered good bonuses and wasn’t too complicated to start with. That’s when I came across https://luckyowl.biz/. The site looked simple and easy to use, plus they had great bonus deals like free spins and deposit matches for new players. The promotions kept coming even after I signed up, which was nice because it didn’t feel like a one-time thing. It’s a fun site that’s easy to use and rewarding.

Paragraph Styles & Character Styles sort by color/label
It would be great to be able to color-label a specific paragraph style from the paragraph styles panel. It helps visually when working with lots of paragraph styles. Also, this applies to character styles as well. Perhaps even the groups within the paragraph styles panel could be color-labeled. This feature is already in Photoshop and even Premiere Pro has a color-label feature so for all of us working in InDesign it is a critical feature.

sort styles alphabetically with optional case sensitivity
Allow the option to toggle case sensitivity on/off when sorting styles alphabetically, so that one can use case sensitivy to namespace styles.
For documents with a long list of styles, I namespace them so that styles used accross the document are sorted first, then those specific to a section, then those specific to an element of a section, like so:
_body
INTRO _body
INTRO BOX _bodyI name sections and subsections in upper case to easily distinguish, but it actually is the prefix "_" that gets sorting to lay the hierarchy.
It would be nice to just resort on case…

Add option to "Find this style" just like "Find this colour"!
I would be great to have the ability to find a style (Paragraph, Character or Object) straight form the panels (Ctrl + click on a style) to quickly find obscure and unused styles without having to open the Find/Change panel.
This option is already available to find a colour in a document and it is very useful, so it would only be logical to do the same for styles, no?
It would be especially appreciated when one takes over a project that’s already been started... with styles galore!

Create (H) Header and (P) Paragraph style on same line to produce a TOC and 508 Accessible document (Run-in Running variable))
Create (H) Header and (P) Paragraph style on same line that will pickup the styles when I produce the TOC and make the document accessible.
I understand this can be done in FrameMaker.
If a programmer can make it happen in FrameMaker, they should be able to make it work in InDesign.
Thank You, Linda

Swap Dropper
Instead of simply using the eye dropper tool to copy the style from one item to another, it would be cool if there was an option to swap the styles between the two items.

Please make it possible to reorder the parent pages.
Simply have a option to drag and drop the parent pages. I think this used to be easy when they were master pages , or maybe I just assumed this - but not now.

Easy drag and drop to base one text style on another
I would love for an easy drag and drop to base one text style on another in the paragraph and character style palettes. The idea is to drag a paragraph style (para) that you want to base on and drop onto another style (parafirst or paralast). I work on book designs with lots and lots of style tags. It will save designers so much time to do it all in the palettes instead of opening up each style and scroll through the style list every time.
In addition, similar to how we apply parent/master pages to pages, it’d…

Paragraph Shading should have the option to rotate a gradient swatch
It is very important to allow the user to rotate the gradient in paragraph shading. I am sure it is child's play for you developers.
Thanks.

Paragraph Styles Larger Tab Markers
I use windows 11 with a display settings at 125% scale and monitors set to 3440x1440 resolution. I use a magnified mouse cursor as well. When using the Paragraph Styles Tab feature, the tab stop markers are so small it makes it very difficult to select them to adjust their position. I would like to see the User Interface designed with larger tab stop markers or a dialogue box that allows for input of the left align and hanging indent settings.

do not overwrite Object Styles when making a group to make it accessible
When applying different object styles to elements in InDesign, they are "deleted" when I make a group and giving the "group" another object-style (for example: a picture and a text, both have separate object styles - i group them, and then want to give the group an object style that puts it in the right position on my page)
As soon as I apply the Object style, to the group, the individual object styles are "overwritten". I can manually reapply them in the group, but thats not efficient.
Especialle to make an accessible PDF, the feature of different Object styles…1 vote
