    This issue is no longer reproducible. If you are still facing this issue, you may try to quit the application, trash InDesign Cache and Preferences and check again.

    In the last two versions of InDesign, there is a tendency for the palettes to lose their functionality (see attached). This can be remedied by deleting preferences, but that's very clumsy and possibly harmful to workflow. Better if the problem was fixed at the factory.

    As confirmed by multiple users, this issue is fixed in latest version of InDesign.

    This is bad news, really messing up our file organization. I've updated to the latest version of InDesign. We need to have clean deliverables, and these files keep magically reappearing wherever they've been deleted, Please fix.

    “Place Video from URL” option has been restored in the latest InDesign update – version 15.1.

    Please update InDesign to use the feature.
