Thank you all for the feedback.
We have added this feature in our backlog. Will share more updates when we pick this up for implementation.
Thank you for your patience.
We currently investigating the issue.
Indeed! Same thing happens here. Especially with large documents containing a lot of images (TIFF and EPS).
We’ve been able to identify one scenario in which the cache folder is not accessible while InDesign is launched, resulting in the issue. The issue seems to be specific to MAC OS.
We have released an update for InDesign CC2019 (v 14.0.2) which contains some stability fixes. If you are not already on 14.0.2, then we recommend you to update to latest version.
If you still encounter the issue again, try to access the location “/Users//Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign/Version/14.0/en_US/InDesign Recovery/*” and create a file in the directory.
Workaround – Quit & relaunch the application, Cache folder gets created and the problem is resolved.
Wow, that's a funny one for Friday!
Cannot create new file.
The file "Unknown document" is damaged (Error code:0)
A QUIT and RESTART of InDesign fixed the problem, but you made me laugh!
Have a nice day!
Thank you for your patience all this while, We have concluded our investigation into the issue and below is our finding.
This issue is due to the use of a specific version of Extensis Universal Type client: version 6.1.6.
The issue is reproducible only with Id 2018 as Extensis UTC 6.1.6 is not compatible with Id 2019.
If you are using Extensis UTC 6.1.6 with InDesign 2018 please use any other version of Extensis UTC which is compatible with Id 2018 to avoid this issue.
Or you can upgrade to Id 2019 and used compatible version of Extensis UTC.
Well, thanks, nobody at Extensis told us about this v6.1.7!!!!!! Will try is immediately. Thanks!
Aman, I do confirm that the problem is fixed when returning to previous version of Extensis Universal Type Server Client 6.1.5. Extensis does know that there is a problem, but they don't seem to care about it... Thanks!
Well it seems that the bug is coming from using Extensis Universal Type Client version 6.1.6. The answer from Extensis: Erase the version installed with a Terminal-type command and re-install previous version 6.1.5... I just hope that it will be a temporary solution...
Same problem here! InDesign keep asking to update links THAT ARE OK! Overtime I save the file, it keeps putting it back to MODIFIED! ANNOYING!
As confirmed by the user, The issue is no longer reproducible.

We acknowledge that the issue is slowing you down and we regret the same.
Our investigation suggests that the issue lies in the latest update of Acrobat and there is little that can be done at our end to resolve the issue.
The problem has been communicated to the relevant team.
In the meanwhile we are closing this thread for InDesign.
