Thanks for the info. This is indeed correct that since the various artboards come in as a layers the dimensions are of the entire document which can be problematic. Adding this to our backlog.

An error occurred while saving the comment Stuart McCoy commentedDoes anyone know if this feature is even being considered? The state of InDesign seems suspect at this point and I'm not convinced Adobe is putting nearly as much effort into improving it as they should be.
An error occurred while saving the comment Stuart McCoy commentedI am completely onboard with this idea. I keep hoping endnotes will be updated to support this but I'm always letdown when it does not. I like the idea of making these "references", or whatever, and having footnotes, endnotes, and references as distinct concepts within InDesign.

An error occurred while saving the comment Stuart McCoy commentedI too would love to see a more graphical approach to table design in InDesign. The convoluted method we currently have leads to unexpected results and often is a limiting factor in how flexible tables truly can be in InDesign. Get rid if the cell styles palette, combine it with table styles, then provide users with a graphic 6x6 grid preview with definable zones for header, subhead, footer, and body rows. Make the body row zone have rules for how to handle repeatability for things like row strokes and background color fills. Also, make it easier to remove any existing styles and apply a new table style to text with only one or two clicks.

Column Rules has been implemented in InDesign 2020. Please upgrade to this version of InDesign to use this feature.

An error occurred while saving the comment Stuart McCoy commentedI forgot to add that changing the size of body to 11pt, for instance, would then change head 1 to 16.5pt and head 2 would now be 13.75. All this would happen without my having to change the paragraph styles for head 1 and head 2 at all. Any font setting could be a percentage as well, making it easier to scale font sizes and spacing dynamically with one master style.

Why aren't more people screaming for this feature? There needs to be a way to split a story at the input or output port of a text frame and have the text split at the same point.
