More robust solution for importing PDF comments
The current solution doesn't work on the long run.
InDesign crashes suddenly very often when trying to import PDF comments, with no warning whatsoever.
Being caused by small changes in ID files, metadatas, auto-install updates of indesign etc. these PDF comments become impossible to use within InDesign after a couple of weeks or more.
With 300+ comments, it takes ages to apply the modifications. Importing PDF comments is so time saving that not being able to use it is frustrating.
- It would be at least great to accept the import and synchronized across the pages, if not on the text itself
- It would be great to be able to import (as a safe workaround maybe) a .fdf comment file. Why the need to export/ import the pdf again?
So far, as a workaround, I have to use a custom Apple script (via Shortcuts) that synchronize the active page from Acrobat to InDesign. It would be so much simpler to have this function natively.
Please, consider improving the PDF import engine
