Any update on this, we have multiple licenses, and this is really hindering my use the program. I would also appreciate if someone can respond.

I have a very similar situation, in both INDD 2025 & 2026, even in regular text find and replace, as well as the spellchecking engine, it became a lot easier and faster to export the text to a word document, fix it on Microsoft Word, then re-import it to InDesign.
