Opening a menu item such as preferences sets of the "error" sound in windows until the item is closed
When I open a menu item such as Print or Preferences or Export, windows begins making the "error" sound as if you clicked in an inappropriate spot. The sound continues until I close whatever menu item I opened. This only started with the update to InDesign 2023.

edit: In my case it was a conflict with DisplayFusion. I added InDesign in the Settings>Compatibility page and disabled title bar buttons for just this app, following the advice of some other posters on the Adobe Community Forum.

This also happens for me when using the Ctrl + D shortcut to Place a file. Same as you, the error sound continues repeatedly until the dialogue box is closed.
