When moving from the direct selection tool to try to make a text box with the type tool hotkey (T), the hotkey still isn't working in InDesign. It shows temporarily as the I bar icon, and then keeps reverting to the direct selection tool or sometimes a disappearing + icon. It doesn't matter how long I wait or if I select the page or the pasteboard for the new text box (although I seem to have more succes on the pasteboard than on the page).. Also the direct selection key and the text tool frequently do not respond to the escape key. I am running InDD 15.0 on a MAC running OS 10.14.4. These features have not worked for at least a year. Experienced designers depend on hotkeys to expedite work. PLEASE fix it!!!!
