Errors in file creation means that some devices cannot open epub file. ID Version 19.3
E-Pub checker defines issues consistently
"data-idGenAnimationEndState" is not a valid custom data attribute (it must have at least one character
after the hyphen, be XML-compatible, and not contain ASCIl uppercase letters). The errors are always in reference to lines 17 and 20 in the code. When I attempted to load the file I received notice: The (ID created files) are 'not supported' and cannot be uploaded to this site. The publications with these errors contain gifs. accessibility export to pdf worked before in 18.5 its now broken in v19
Working in v19 with an exsiting file and when exporting to PDF it lists dozens of problems in the accessibility check which did not happen previously.
Gone back to version 18.5 which works fine with exactly the same file.4 votes -

Phenomenon
Fill and line disappears when copying an object.Reproduction procedure
1. Select an object with fill and line to surround it with the direct selection tool.
2. Grab the anchor point and copy by option+drag.
3. The object without fill or line is copied.The same result can be obtained by selecting an object to enclose with the direct selection tool, and then copying with the Object menu > Transform > Move.

Reading order of footnotes is incorrect for multi-column layouts
InDesign is not placing footnotes correctly in the reading order when generating accessible PDFs for layouts with more than one column. Instead of placing the footnotes at the bottom of the page's reading order, InDesign is placing them at the end of the first column, interrupting the reading order.
Also, after correcting the reading order by placing the footnote(s) at end, Acrobat reports a 'Tagged Annotations - Failed' error for the footnote or the first footnote in a block of footnotes when it is a hyperlink.

Actual text duplicated as Alt-text on images in a list
When setting only actual text on images in a list, the images output with actual text but also Alt-text. This unnecessarily repeats information to assistive technology.
When the same image with only actual text is inside a paragraph instead, the actual text (and no Alt-text) correctly outputs to the PDF.
This happens in 19.0.1 (2024), and it happens in 2023.

Alt text is lost when content is edited in InCopy
When a file containing content which includes anchored objects (images or groups) which have alt text applied is edited in InCopy, alt text is destroyed.
InDesign/Incopy 2023 & 2022
Steps to reproduce:
1) Create a new INDD file
2) Place an image
3) Add alt text to the image
4) Create a text frame with some placeholder text
5) Anchor the image into the text frame
6) Export the story for editing in InCopy
7) Open the file in InCopy
8) Edit the content (Don't touch the image)
9) Check in the file

[ID-4261362] When using real endnotes in InDesign and exporting as a tagged PDF, the tag tree isn't created correctly.
When you use real endnotes in InDesign and export as a tagged PDF, the resulting tag tree is not generated properly.
This behavior can be reproduced for at least for InDesign 16, 17, 18.Result now:

Selection tool issue
The selection tool don't allow to move objects but only to select and resize them.
Also, moving a selection of multiple objects, with images in it, with the Direct Selection tool it only move the frames but not the images inside them.
This is a BIG problem, how can i fix it??2 votes -
Incorrect coding of ligatures in placed Illustrator files
InDesign is not encoding ligatures in placed Illustrator files correctly when generating accessible PDFs via the Export/Adobe PDF (Interactive) command. Accessibility Check in Acrobat reports all ligatures in Illustrator files as 'Character Encoding - Failed'.

BUG DETAILS- On a Monitor that is setup in a Portrait configuration, whether at 125% or 100% display scale in Windows Settings, the Indesign Interface scaling option under Preferences does not work.
Adobe is a publishing software, especially InDesign. Book Publishers and their graphic design team need to have the option of working in a monitor setup in a Portrait configuration for the purpose of full vertical page (height) dimensions. Tagged PDF
The document will not export to PDF when "create tagged pdf" is selected. Program crashes every time before exporting is complete. Have tried on different computers. Applications are up to date. Have tried exporting from .indd and .idml file types. Mac OS 13.3.1, Indesign 2023 fully updated.

InDesign Beta doesn't open my file
When Indesign Beta is open and I want to open an additional file, Indesign doesn't open the new file, but seems to ignore tha prompt to open the additional file. If the program is closed, the files will open the program and pop up, but if the program is already open with or without a file, InDesign ignores the opening of the new file.

Error when trying to read an accessible PDF generated by Indesign with a screen reader.
I'm using CC 2023, InDesign. I made a PDF accessible through InDesign, however, when opening it in Acrobat and trying to read it with assistive technology (NVDA) the PDF gives an error and closes.

Scrollbar is hidden upon defocusing the InDesign window
Upon defocusing the InDesing window, the scrollbar disappears.
This issue is creating usability problems - working on 2 monitors, clicking on the other monitor to grab some image or text, then trying to return to InDesign by clicking the scrollbar to scroll to the desired position does not work. Instead, randomly clicking the empty scrollbar randomly scrolls to the left or to the right.
Whoever had the idea to hide the scrollbars had a very bad decision. None of known apps are hiding the scrollbar upon defocus, also, hiding the scrollbar has absolutely no benefits, just drawbacks.
