I frequently produce publications that require several very different sizes with the same content, it makes sense for our workflow to keep every size in a single file using Alternate Layouts, with the content linked so a change made once can be carried through. Creating an Alternate Layout already takes a set of pages and uses liquid page rules to adapt them to a new size and margins, which works, but I'd like to request two extensions to that feature.

First, when creating an Alternate Layout, give the option of letting the styles be mapped onto an existing set of styles, not only copied into a new group. "Copy Text Styles to New Style Group" is great when there's no existing set to map to, but once I've made all the alternates for a book, I could make that a template. Then when I make the next book, those target styles already exist and I want the new pages to adopt them. The Content Conveyor can already map onto existing styles when placing content; Alternate Layouts should be able to do the same.

Second, and this is the main thing, let the process be run more than once within the same file. At the moment an alternate layout is generated only once from its source. If I later add pages to a layout, there's no way to take those specific pages and send them into the alternate layouts I've already created. I'd like to select the new pages and apply the same conversion I used before, i.e. the same liquid page rules and the same style mapping – so they're added and linked to each existing alternate layout consistently, without rebuilding anything by hand.
