6 Odd Things InDesign Needs to Fix
After having used InDesign for a while, I encountered the following difficulties. Some may be due to my own inexperience—in which case I welcome feedback on how to resolve them—while others may well be issues with the software itself.
Scrolling up and down like Word. InDesign shifts left and right like a monkey on ice, which is downright irritating. This may not be an issue if you are working on just a few pages, but if it’s a book with 500 pages, it becomes very annoying.
Fully justified text. The last line should be left-aligned. Does this really need to be specified? I asked Copilot, and the suggestion was to set it in the paragraph styling. But my version of the software does not seem to have such a setting.
Pages cracking up. The pages sometimes do not display properly.
Zoom feature using touchpad. This functionality appears to be missing.
Blue and pink page frames. The page frames are distracting and cannot be fixed or customized. They move about, multiply ... very disturbing and difficult to fix. This is especially frustrating when you need to insert diagrams or pictures into the text.
Diagrams not tied to text blocks. Diagrams float independently, and if the pages reflow, they go out of sync.
Thank you
