External link to a specific point of a Publish Online document
Can we get a way to link directly to a text anchor, hyperlink destination, page # etc from an external source?
For example: I'd like to publish product documentation using Publish Online, and it would be nice to be able to link to a page or text anchor from a help document that would take someone to a specific point (i.e. a connection diagram).

This is very important. In InDesign I want to link to a Destination in an external Acrobat Pro document. The document I am linking to (which is not under my control) is often revised so that page numbers change but the Destinations won't change. My own InDesign document gets revised regularly also with new information. The two documents need to stay relevant to each other. Currently, I have to export to PDF and then create new links in the second PDF every time I update the file. There is also a serious problem with exporting hyperlinks. InDesign keeps inserting % plus other characters into the link path and breaking the link. In my scenario, we are talking about downloaded files in the same folder for end users without good internet access.

Did anybody ever find a way to have an external link to a bookmark or hyperlink inside an InDesign digital Publication?

Hi Craig,
You can direct link to a specific page in a Publish Online document by adding ?startpage=5 to the end of your document URL (this example would go to page 5.)
I hope this helps.
