Do not recalculate values entered into fields in other units
When I enter a leading in mm, InDesign will always recalculate to pt. Please give us the possibility, that InDesign does not recalculate values entered in other units.
Or at least give us the possibility to change the field value into different units. Now I have to blindly try out or use my calculator if I see a leading of »12,756 Pt« – is it 4,5mm or 4,45mm or what?

To change »everything« as it could be done now is definitely not my point – to clarify this. I’m aware of that option.
Your suggestion is good in my eyes either. A more elaborated preferences pane for changing units, which allows to set the unit for many different program functions (point size, leading, padding/margins, contour width etc.; objects; etc.) would be as good.

You can just change the document's unit of measurement to mm if you want everything done in mm. Just right-click on a ruler, I think.
What you may be suggesting, and what I would love, is for ID to be able to use different units for different things, like the rulers in inches, type-related things in points, object-related things in mm, etc.
