PDF conversion retry
In InDesign CC, when you export a file as a PDF , but you previously just exported that same file as a PDF and still have it open, you get an error message saying: "Cannot save to the file [filename].pdf, because it is already open." I would like that dialog box to have a "Try Again" option.
Right now I have to click "OK", close the PDF, then go back through the exporting dialog box. The "Try Again" function would allow me to just close the PDF then just click "Try Again", which would use the same settings I just chose. This would thus skip having to go through the Export dialog box, saving a step.

This is one of my biggest frustrations.
I often export my pdf and see a mistake, so I go back and fix it. Since I was in such a hurry to go back and fix it, I leave the pdf open in Acrobat. Now when I go to save it again, I'm met with the dreaded error without a simple "Try Again" option.

THIS. This is something that can and should be implemented.

FYI keyboard shortcuts can also be assigned to single scripts :)
So: Cmd-E for export and for example Cmd-Ctrl-E for batch_convert.
As I said: I use it every day :) -

Hi Jeff,
Have you ever heard of the script 'batch_convert.jsx' ? It's a free script by Peter Kahrel. https://creativepro.com/files/kahrel/indesign/batch_convert.htmlThis script exports to PDF and a lot of other interesting things. In this script, amongst other settings, you can choose to overwrite existing files (or not) and it works like a charm. I use it every day.
Give it a try. You'll be surprised what this script can do for you! :)
