File Lock auto-release
We have multiple editors working remotely, with a policy of locking a file while working on it. But we have a repeated problem of files being left locked at the end of the day, meaning others are unable to work on them. Please add a pop-up on closing a file which asks "do you wish to unlock?".

File handling behaviour
I would like indesign to First, look in its resident (root) folder for fonts and links, then look in subfolders (ie packed folders "fonts" & "Links") and only then, if it cannot locate them, go looking in the folders defined as "original links folder" or "most recent links folder".
I would like this to apply to both opening a file and to saving the file and exporting files (pdf etc)
and if this cannot be a default behavior, then I'l **** it to be an optional behavior.Why?

Picture form field for mac and overapping with another field
It is also an absolute concern of mine that you can also create image form fields, even if there is a logo on top of them, for example. Currently it is only possible (and only via windows) to create an image field without, for example, a bar with a font or a logo overlapping.

all Adobe apps become the most crashing
year by year all Adobe apps become the most crashing in this digital world. now even photoshop is the best crasher which overtook all time great crasher InDesign. i don't want to share any ideas about this permanent error which already infected almost all other adobe apps.

Import mobile app Illustrator file directly into InDesign without needing to download or export first
I'd like to be able to place Illustrator mobile app files directly into InDesign, as opposed to exporting them or downloading them first.
I often place desktop Illustrator files into InDesign, therefore any changes I make in the Illustrator file I can update from the Links panel in InDesign ('update link'). However, I don't have this option with mobile app Illustrator files.
I understand I can download the files from my Adobe account, or export the files into jpeg/png etc. But I don't want this for two reasons:
1- It's an extra step in my workflow

Although I encountered a few surprises when using InDesign or could imagine new functionalities, I still think, that InDesign is more convenient to handle than Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat and CameraRaw. Add a preference option to allow InDesign to give you PDF import options when you drag a PDF into an open InDesign window
When you drag a PDF into InDesign, it only loads the cursor with the first page of the PDF. In order to load multiple pages or specific pages of a PDF, you need to place the PDF and tick the box to show PDF import options.
Would be nice to have a preference to turn on so that when you drag in a multiple page PDF into an open ID window, it pops up those PDF import options dialogue box automatically. Of course, if it's just a single page PDF, it will just load the single page into the cursor.…

Export to image file with naming option to include artboard
Why, when you can do this in other Adobe products, it does not exist in the LAYOUT software?????????
HOW IS THIS NOT NATIVE ALREADY??? Please make this your priority for next update. I am sure many on this forum use ID for exporting several if not 30 or so sizing layouts for a single ad or social media space????

Toggle pages of a linked file
Much like the 'Object Layer Options', can we please have a 'Linked Pages Options' so we can toggle which page of a PDF/INDD file is shown?

Exporter/Importer son espace de travail personnalisé
Dans Photoshop/Illustrator, nous pouvons exporter/importer notre espace de travail et pas dans InDesign. Dommage car avec une mise à jour comme celle de 2021, je passe plus d'une heure à réinstaller tout mon espace.

In the Arrange option, may we please go back and forth from a multiple to one and back again without having to close one of the windows?
Last year I could switch views in "Arrange" from 2 docs to one, back and forth. Now, I have to close one to get full screen with the second and reopen if I want to see them both side by side. Can you please switch back to the old method? This is a time-waster and frustrating, as it used to be in place. Thank you.

Text Wrap path Selection
If we lock the Text Layer if it’s above the Objects’ Layer that has graphic elements on it, and we want to “Wrap” an object from that layer, we can see the Wrap Path which is Editable by Pen Tool & Direct Selection Tool,
When Wrap Path is active and then we want to select just an anchor point by making a marquee selection from outside (like Illustrator) to select a single anchor point the path disappears and we see disappeared path even mouse click button is pressed, every time we will have to click on the anchor point to…1 vote -

A keyboard shortcut that forces InDesign to look within its enclosing folder for links and fonts.
Currently if you are working with files on a VPN connected server InDesign tries to link to images and fonts on that server. Even if you have the full packaged file on your local drive InDesign still tries to link to to the VPN server. So I would like to see a way of overriding this, and I think a keyboard shortcut to force InDesign to link locally would be a good solution.
