When I fire up InDesign the application window appears at the aspected (normal) position on my screen. When I’m away for a while the system goes to sleep and the screen turns black. No problem so far.

But every time when I wake the system the ID-application window has dropped half way the screen. So I reposition the ID-screen, but after another system nap gravity does the same job again to this window. 😉
This happens when the option Application frame is on or off.

This is only noticable within InDesign. Illustrator and Photoshop work fine.

    Please address this issue!

We've just released InDesign 17.2.1 version which addresses this issue.

Please update to this latest version using Creative Cloud Desktop application.

In case the fix does not work immediately for you, please try the following:

    1) Quit InDesign.

    2) Delete the following:

    on Mac:

    /Users/[yourname]/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign

    /Users/[yourname]/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign

    on Win:

    C:\Users\[yourname]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\InDesign

    C:\Users\[yourname]\AppData\Local\Adobe\InDesign

Relaunch InDesign & see if it works properly now.

I quit InDesign, deleted the folders mentioned above and restarted the app.
Result: the affected fonts do show up in de font list, but still (red) marked as missing in the text. InDesign tells me that the bold versions are placed and this style is missing. But the affected fonts doesn’t come with this weight, so I don’t know how InDesign comes to this.
I’ve manually changed the fontstyle from bold te regular.
    The problem is gone.

In ID version 17.2.1 occurred this problem. Downgraded to version 17.0.1 gave me back some missing fonts, but the problem isn’t solved.

The fix of the issue is now available in the latest InDesign 2023(v18.2.1.455). We recommend you upgrade to the latest version for the fix.

If you are unable to see the update, go to the Creative Cloud application and click on the context menu on the top right and click on Check for App Updates.

    Same issue here!
See the attached screenshot. The selected font is marked as PostScript Type 1, while Info says that this font is OpenType.

    Hello All,

Following up on the comments stating that the issue is yet not fixed, we did our investigation and found that, the issues being called out in the comment section, though maybe relevant but are different than the one for which this thread was originally created.

This particular thread caters to a very specific case which has been fixed in the last update of InDesign.

If you continue to face performance related issues with InDesign, we sincerely request you to create a separate thread so that we can categorize the performance related issues and address them completely.
In addition to track the performance issues effectively, it will also enable us to reach out to you in a organised manner when we investigate into each category of performance issues.

We are extremely sorry for the troubles you are facing with InDesign and we are determined to resolve them as efficiently…

I 'm having exact the same problem. Its driving me nuts every time the spinning beach ball appears after almost every activity. It downgrades the work speed ánd it generates problems like unintended movement of objects, etc, etc, etc.
    Please fix this problem!

@ Quality Engineer InDesign Abhinav Kaushik: maybe you could alter your ‘Fixed’ message above to ‘WIP’ so you make us feel like you are busy fixing this.
