We're happy to announce that the fix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign - version 17.2 that is available from Creative Cloud Desktop application.

Fix is available in the latest update of InDesign.

I'm having the same problem on my iMac Pro 2017, OSX 10.15.7, thunderbolt connected LG HRD 4K screen as main monitor. Running Indesign 16.2.1.
Dragging/resizing window fixes display
Turning off GPU makes the problem go away, so have done that for now.
