1. Updated my Indesign to 15.0.3, now constant FREEZING, SLOW, NOT RESPONDING

   after updating to 15.0.3, I have had CONSTANT issues with Indesign. (and Adobe Acrobat Pro) . Receive a CONSTANT not responding message. Extremely frustrated. Cannot get my work finished. Things are taking more than double the time they should. Something as simple as turning a page can take a entire minute or two. Wish I never updated.

2. Remove color failed

   Hi,

   I'm facing a new issue.

   Version : InDesign Server CC 2021
   Language : VBScript

   Steps to reproducre :
   - Create a new color
   - Try to remove it
   -> Error : Can't remove this color

   Works on InDesign Server CC 2020

   I can't upload my example code file so i put it here :

   Set ID = CreateObject("IndesignServer.Application.2021")

   Set CurDoc = ID.Documents.Add

5. Error message when trying to open InDesign file

   I continually get an error that InDesign cannot open a file because it was created in a newer version and that I need to update...the problem is that I created the file 10 minutes ago and there is no update to be done.

6. version 17.0 while launching shows blank black screen

   Screen gets stuck on black screen and no option comes up.

   InDesign version 16.0 works fine.
   Tried reinstalling the app but shows same issue.

8. fonts activate

   Indesign 15.0.1: Hello, I have the same problem. Adobe Fonts don´t load. When I click to activate a font it changes icon to "activating" but it never activates.

10. After IDS install or update calls to preflight() don't work unless you manually edit ExportPreflightReport.jsx

    Whenever we install or update InDesign Server we can't call preflight() unless we manually edit the ExportPreflightReport.jsx file found here:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign Server 2023\Scripts\Preflight

    We've had to do this for every version of IDS we've installed or updated (v15, v18.2.1 and 18.5). We're using Windows Server 2022 in Azure (Win64).

    I can't attach jsx or zip files but edits required are described at the bottom of this post: https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/problem-with-save-preflight-report-using-javascript-in-macintosh/td-p/5831477

    If we don't make these changes, calls to preflight on IDS don't produce a report. The script (ExportPreflightReport.jsx) works on InDesign Desktop.

    It would be great if IDS shipped with this ExportPreflightReport.jsx ready to go.

12. search text

    BUG/FEATURE: No SEARCH feature for indd.adobe.com documents!
    Details: I'm viewing a wine list for the restaurant Cafe Juanita in Kirkland, WA (URL below). Your indd.adobe.com viewer does NOT have a search feature. Which would be super useful on this 28 page wine list! In addition, there is no download button, so I cannot download the PDF and search it locally.

13. Adobe Indesign server doesn't indicate license issues

    An Indesign Server setup was no longer running properly. The soap client could no longer connect to the instances.

    However, the Windows Indesign server service was running. There were no errors in the Windows event viewer. Rebooting the service and server had no effect.

    Upon manual startup, errors were displayed stating that the license could not be verified. After opening Internet access, everything worked fine again.

    THIS SHOULD BE FIXED:
    - The Windows event viewer should show license errors
    - The Indesign server service should not be running if there are license issues. It should shutdown again. Why is the service still running if it doesn't work?

16. Proximity and distance from a display in InDesign

    I have a problem with my InDesign.
    When I want to zoom there is no with the mouse wheel. It moves the display further away from me and not closer. In Photoshop and the other programs it does work for me, but not in InDesign.

20. InDesign Server removes locks from locked layers during opening the document

    Hi,

    We ran into to the following issue on InDesign Server: after opening, saving and closing a document that contains layers that are locked, these layers become unlocked.

    The issue is reproducible on InDesign Server 16.4.0, 16.4.1, 17.0.0.

    The issue is not reproducible with version 15.x and 16.0.0, so it must have been introduced in InDesign Server 16.2.1 or 16.4.0.

    Scenario (on IDS 16.4.1):

    1. InDesign: create a document ‘~/Desktop/local2021.indd’

    2. Create 3 layers

    3. Lock all layers

    4. Save and close the document

    5. Run the script below on InDesign Server 2021 (16.4.1),

    (6). Open the document again in InDesign

    → the layer locks are gone!

    The same scenario is reproducible on InDesign Server 17.0.0.

    We found that the removal of the locks from the layers happen during the opening of the document.
    Evidently, the locks on the layers should remain untouched when opening a document in InDesign Server.

    We reported this issue directly to Adobe. It's known as #ID-4228851.
