Outer Edge Bleed Option for Facing Pages
Description:
InDesign currently applies identical bleed settings to all four edges of each page, even in facing-page layouts.
For publications such as magazines, catalogs, and books, the inner (spine) edge bleed between facing pages is unnecessary and can cause issues in visualization, export, and imposition.
Feature Request:
Add an option in the Document Setup and Export Settings to enable Outer Edge Bleed mode.
In this mode, bleed is applied only to the top, bottom, and outer edges of each spread.
The inner edge between facing pages would have no bleed, resulting in a cleaner, more accurate PDF output that reflects the final printed result.
Benefits:
• Reduces unnecessary bleed on inner edges.
• Produces more accurate PDF previews for client review.
• Minimizes manual adjustments in master pages or export settings.
