19.2 Performance (esp. Type Tool)
Starting with version 19, but especially with v. 19.2 (MacBook using Sonoma 14.3.1), InDesign just SLOGS. Every time I select the Type Tool, it's about 3-4 full seconds (including the "spinning ball" every time) before the type tool is accessible to me.
I am a long-time power user of InDesign and this is incredibly frustrating. My brain and hands now work much faster than the application — didn't always used to be true. Click and wait...click and wait...click and wait. That's what using InDesign is like now. For 700 bucks a year. Yuck!
Have you made the program TOO FAT, with too many features, so that core performance can't handle the weight anymore? I just want to make beautiful pages, meet my deadlines, and not want to punch the screen.

I came here in hope of finding a solution to this same issue. For me everything is lagged, the Type Tool, selecting a frame, moving a menu, displaying a font list, everything. I find it almost unusable. It should not take me half an hour to adjust the leading on a single paragraph. I have also found this to introduce errors in my content due to delayed key responses.
I have tried everything, changing preferences in Display performance, File Handling, interface, i've even removed half my paragraph styles. Nothing seems to help.
