Tools are now blocking me from being able to close open documents in InDesign
Since updating to the newest version: V 18.5 the tools bar is now blocking the name and the ability to close down the first document. For accessibility reasons, I need the toolbar to remain on the left without blocking access to the document.

Just click and hold the panel at the hatched area at the top and drag it to the left till you see a blue bar, then let go.
