Either the file does not exist... ERROR
I've noticed a pattern when clicking on one of my recent file icons... I use two different cloud storage platforms, Dropbox and Sync. Both services are accessed from local folders on the same external hard drive. When trying to open one of the recent DROPBOX files from the Recent start page, I get the dreaded 'Either the file does not exist...' error.
BUT, when I follow the same process with one of the SYNC files, it opens with no issues.
ALSO, I can open files from EITHER service using the File > Open Recent method.
So... could the problem somehow be with the Dropbox integration? Any thoughts, InDesigners? Thanks!

Getting similar issues on my end but with our server instead of Dropbox.
When I first open a document on our server it gives me the error. In doing so, this opens the .IDLK file but doesn't open the .indd. If clicking the main .indd file again (with the .idlk still open) It opens with no issues.
I also get a similar error when trying to save a new document directly to the server.
Things I've tried:
- Saving as a Copy
- Saving as .IDML, reopening & saving a new .indd
- Manually deleting .IDLK, opening and resaving
- Tried on a different users account (same machine)
- Cleared Preferences
- Combed through files to check for unnecessary characters i.e. <>?/\:
- Updated application etc.Too many other small variations of troubleshooting to count!
Everything started happening when working from home and having to transfer files back and forth.
No issues persist when working off desktop so in the interim, I'm doing that and coping to the server at the end of the day.@MacDadEO Are you experiencing the same complications with the .IDLK as well?
Hope someone has a solution!
Thanks,
