PDF export default setting [Smallest File Size] creates a HUGE file (700MB for a 4 page document)
When I want to export a PDF, it is 200 times bigger than I expected. Regardles of if I manually change the compression to a minimum or select any of the preselects [Smallest File Size]. A four page pdf always exports as a +700MB file.
The InDesign version is currently up to date with 15.0.2

 commentedOk, I found the solution.
When I select an Adobe PDF Preset (High Quality Print, or Smallest Filesize), the Dropdown menu for "Standard" jumps to "None". I have to then manually select "PDF/X-1a:2001", and only then will my exported PDFs have a normal size.I find it strange that the PDF presets don't have a sensible standard selected automatically. No one expects a 700MB PDF after selecting the default setting "Smallest File Size".
