Link updates not registering in Indesign Mac
Indesign 14.0.3 (latest offered)
A text box is dynamically linked [place and link] from a master document to a child document. When the text is changed in the master document, the linked box in the child detects that it has been changed, and prompts user to update the placed box with a missing/updated link warning and an ! icon on the linked box. This is the expected behavior, and this works properly on Windows version of Indesign.
This function is not working on the Mac version of Indesign. Changes to the master are not being detected by the linked copy in the child. The child sees only the first instance of the text box that was placed. It is flagged as being linked, but no changes are detected - the 'dynamic' portion of this link is not functioning.
In my screenshot, the link icon on this text should be flagged as requiring an update. The text in this box is old. On Windows when I open this document I am notified of a pending change. On Mac it is only a link with no updates noticed.
Edit: Note: when we open the child from a local location (desktop) the updates from master on network are recognized. This is not a solution however, as a user opening a child on the network will not know that change has occurred on the master. They will not know to pull the child locally first, as working locally is not the standard practice of our many users.
