type tool stops working / document freezes

My Type / Text Frame button randomly stops working and then the whole document freezes. I then exit out of the document, open it again and it either works for a few edits until it freezes again or I need to close/open numerous times until it works. I've done all the updates and this has been happening for a few weeks.

    I, too, have been having this problem with the 2021 upgrade. What can be done? It is quite frustrating and time consuming.

    Have the same problem. Clicking a text frame for i. e. changing font size or selecting another typeface ID stops working and freezes. I have to mnaually reset the program. This also happens after the update to 14.1. I NEVER had to work with such an unstable ID version. This is very diappointing ...
