Feature request: Ignore Preflight errors on Hidden Spreads
It would be very useful if InDesign automatically excluded Hidden Spreads from Preflight checks, or provided an option to do so.
Currently, a spread set to “Hide Spread” is intentionally excluded from presentation/export, but errors within that spread — such as missing image links or overset text — can still be reported by Preflight.
This creates unnecessary warnings, particularly in documents where Hidden Spreads are used to keep alternative layouts, previous versions, or working material within the same InDesign file.
Suggested improvement:
Add a Preflight option such as:
“Ignore errors on Hidden Spreads”
When enabled, missing links, overset text, image resolution warnings, etc. located exclusively on Hidden Spreads would not contribute to the document’s Preflight error count.
This would make the Hide Spread feature much more useful for professional workflows and keep Preflight focused only on content that can actually be exported.
