Eliminate document size limits
It would be great if there weren't size limit on documents. I am currently working on a very large design for a trade show booth. And I have to do it in Photoshop due to the size limits of InDesign. It is taking so much longer than it needs to because every time I try to transform or resize something, it takes 20 minutes to complete a small task Doing this in InDesign would be way better.

The value of this is being able to design your page and rely on the internal dimensions as they are presented. I could drag a box and set it to 180cm wide, and know it will actually be that size. No need for human error in doing any maths. The software can scale down after the fact.

Working to scale in InDesign is no different than working to scale in Photoshop. I do highway billboards in InDesign (38'x14' and similar sizes), and the process is easier and faster than doing the same thing in Photoshop. Besides, the document size limitation is built into Acrobat/Distiller/PDF, so it would be of no value to make InDesign's document size larger.
Don't work full scale on oversize grande format projects. You're wasting immense amounts of time for no added value.
