Allow to disable Zoom to slection in InDesign

This is annoying and I'd like to be able to turn it off as in Illustrator, but there is no preference that I can find.

Sorry to see you facing problems with this new method of zooming in and out.

To turn this off you can go to the Preferences > GPU Performance and turn Off the option “Animated Zoom”. This should revert the zoom behaviour.

    Please sort out the irritating instant high speed scrolling and flipping between pages and zooming in and out. Why was this not sorted in development!!!!!!?

    Just adding to my voice to the crowd. So counter intuitive, to have a zoom function differently than pretty much every other software I've worked with. Zoom to selection should not be the default for any adobe software.

    The first answer has to do with Illustrator. The person obviously didn't read before offering completely irrelevant advice. I turn off this feature immediately in all Adobe programs, and I would like to be able to disable it in InDesign as well. Is there any way to turn off "Zoom to Selection" in INDESIGN? Even a registry hack would do.

    Please please make "Zoom to selection" an option. I work in Indesign all day, everyday and its incredibly frustrating to be sent to another place of my page, instead zooming into whats centered on my screen.

    @Javed - You should remove the "Feature Already Exists" tag on this as your suggestion doesn't answer the original request.

    The original request has nothing to do with animation, but the CMD+/- zooms to any object that is currently selected (called "Zoom to Selection" in Illustrator).

    There should be a checkbox available in preferences to turn "Zoom to Selection" off which would allow the user to "Zoom to Center".

    Hi, I cannot find an option to disable animated zoom in InDesign. I didn't think animated zoom was possible in InDesign.

    Is there a way to "disable Zoom to selection in InDesign"
