It’s not exactly JSON, but it supports XLS/XLSX, CSV, and TXT files.
It includes live data preview, the ability to update changes from XLS back into InDesign, more robust multiple-records-per-page handling, and many more features.
It’s still in beta and completely free, so feel free to check it out.

Or you can take a look at Open Documents Manager — it also includes a page jump function.

You can use free script:
https://www.zaleskyworkflow.com/en/scripts/page-jumper
WIN + numpad number will jump directly on that page.
e.g. WIN + 338Works same with InDesign and Acrobat.
Windows only

I know what the problem with the Book is. If you disable “Check Links Before Opening Document” in Preferences, exporting the Book becomes super fast, but all images are exported in low resolution — which is a bug in itself.
Now this seems to be related to the script as well. Try forcing the script to check the links before opening/exporting, similar to how the option works in Preferences. -

Look at document manager
https://www.zaleskyworkflow.com/
Because I keep replying to questions here where people ask for a certain feature, and there’s already a script for almost everything, I’d like to ask the admins for a little understanding.
I really don’t think I need to keep getting banned — I’m just trying to help people. :) That’s what the forum is for, after all.
Here you’ll find a script that does exactly this — and much more. You can have the document saved and closed automatically, create a ZIP right away, or set up your favorite output folders.
