If you have InDesign CC 2019, when you select a Hyperlink and look in the Properties panel, you will see 3 buttons – ‘Remove Hyperlink’, ‘Edit Hyperlink’ and ‘Manage Hyperlink’.
Remove Hyperlink does what it says – it removes the hyperlink. However, it retains the applied Character Style which can be manually changed by clicking the [None] style in the panel.
Manage Hyperlink opens the Hyperlinks panel (if it’s closed) and Edit Hyperlink lets you edit it.Hope this helps.

You might want to explain this a little further as to what the differences are between what is highlighted in yellow vs. what is highlighted in blue. Based on your example, is the blue highlighting for text between parenthesis that are only a year and nothing else? If yes, then would it solve your issue to make a 2nd GREP style that calls out instances of just 4 digits between parenthesis to make them blue; and adjust your first GREP to only be used when there is more than just 4 digits?
