    We're happy to announce that the fix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign - version 17.2 that is available from Creative Cloud Desktop application.

    Please update to this latest InDesign version to get the fix.

    @Ravi in the latest update February 2026 I am experiencing a similar issue with a pink layer that is visible in different zoom states but doesnt actually exist.

    This bug is NOT FIXED!
    Mac OS Sonoma 14.2.1 (23C71)

    Fix for this issue is available in the latest InDesign 2026 release (21.2.0.30) and InDesign 2025 LTS release (20.5.2.078), please update to this release from CCD app.

    Hi Ravi as of today: February 18th 2026 the undo / redo functionality is completely missing (greyed out) in the latest InDesign Release.

    Now 8 years later with KI turning everything upside down I cannot stress this enough!
    We do not need a dozen new features every year. InDesign is just fine, but now it is containing so many bugs.

    For the first time since starting with the Creative Cloud I unchecked the automated updates . I am losing my trust. It is the same with Apple Software on OS. Suddenly basic functions seem to be broken.

    I now downloaded an older version of indesign (20.5.2) opened my file there. I tried to create an alternate layout again and I have the same bug. I opened an older version of the file and recreated the same.

    Also i cannot move the pages / Spreads from the faulty unwanted "alternate" layout back to the original layout.

    For me that means minutes before finishing my task of the day my file is unusable.
    I am outraged!

    We have released an update for InDesign CC2019 (v 14.0.1) which contains fixes for some key issues. If you are not already on 14.0.1 (build 209), then we recommend you to update to latest version.

    If you still face this issue even after updating, please send the following information to santalwa@adobe.com :

    Reproducible Steps –
    • Error snapshot or video recording of the issue.
    • Is the issue related to a specific document(s)/asset(s)? If yes, can you please share the document(s)/asset(s) with us? Please package the entire document(To package the document, Go to File → Package)

    I have the same issue today in InDesign. It is maddening! Cause I cannot undo something and sometimes things are lost.
