[ InDesign 2025 ver 20.5.1 x64 Win11 Home 24H2. Desktop. ]. Ctrl-Z undo changed within the last 4 days from Unlimited undo's to 3 undo's. Very frustrating -- I see this has been ongoing problem in various versions. Meanwhile? Are there settings I need to look at? I have, but cannot see anything that I might have done. or should change. I have applied most recent update offered fix on this version last night -- shut down completely, opened this morning - no improvement to Ctrl-Z. Contact me if you need more info.

Agreed -- need to see all of the web link address. I just had to create a link (InDesign 18.5.4 desktop version) at this website: https://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/Portals/0/Shaw%20Nature%20Reserve/PDFs/horticulture/Propagation.pdf The last few characters, " ion.pdf ' did not show up and the linking did not of course work. When I manually looked and compared the address, I then was able to enter the rest of the website and then the link worked. Maybe there is another way to design the linkage box to show more characters where the website address is supposed to be entered? Sorry, hope this is clear.

Glad to see someone else has this problem!! I just discovered it happening yesterday when pasting in a lengthy URL. The ending 7 or so characters were cut off. Took precious time for fiddling and trying different things and research and lots of thinking before I had the a sudden idea that just maybe the pasted URL was missing an end character in the panel field. When I investigated, saw not one but several characters were missing, then typed in the remaining characters, the hyperlink worked! Would really really appreciate this thing getting fixed. (Win 11; InDesign 18.5.4 -- because I don't like the new screen design)

There are really two issues, from my standpoint:
Ctrl-Z is limited to three or so tries and mouse clicks cause disappearing text.
Neither problem shows up in my ID 2023 on same computer.
I am using InDesign 2025 20.5.1 x64
SYSTEM: DESKTOP Win 11 Home 24H2 - Up to date. Processor: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900KF (3.20 GHz). Installed RAM: v16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)] Microsoft Defender. Malwarebytes Pro. BackBlaze on continuous backup (on demand backup does not make any difference)
When I use a mouse (any mouse---keyboard does not cause a problem) to click on a word or phrase to edit it, text disappears, and feels as if there is a momentary hanging. The Ctrl-Z works to bring the text back (but only for three tries in recovering edits) and it also reverts the edit I was trying to make.
I have to use SAVE AS frequently and that slows the problem of disappearing text but only briefly.
Sounds like Adobe is closing in on a possible solution. (Meanwhile, I am staying far, far away from ID 2026)
