In earlier versions of InDesign the font menu was listed in alpha order (as it is now), but when searching for a font style it would pick up where you left off rather than going back to the beginning. For example, let's say I need to choose a font for a project. I scroll down and select Myriad for example. I try it but don't like it. I go back to the menu but now I'm back at the top (A) rather than at Myriad. I've already discarded A through M at this point, so it's a waste of time to have to scroll through them all again to pick up where I left off. I do like that it ads the font you've selected into a separate box at the top. That feature should remain but continue the search where we left of, not back at the top.
