    I agree that this would be useful! In the meantime here is a workaround:

    1. Create the shape that you'd like to use as a guide (I put mine on the parent page).

    2. Define fill and strokes (I use very light colors, hairlines, no fill).

    3. Select the items then enable Window > Output > Attributes > Nonprinting.

    You can also lock them if you want. The shapes are hidden in preview mode, just like regular guides, and they don't print.

  4. Nested Line Styles interfere with Grep Styles

    Same. Indesign for Windows 17.1 x64. Very frustrating bug, please fix.
