  1. InDesign is unusable after the latest update (13.1) with spell checking and hyphenation is set to Hungarian / Winsoft.

    InDesign is unusable after the latest update (13.1) if spell checking and hyphenation is set to Hungarian / Winsoft. All words are underlined as incorrectly spelled, hyphenation dosen't work, InDesign hangs. If I open a documents saved before the update InDesign displays the document, than hangs.

  2. Bug in Paragraph Shading in Multicolumn text

    When you apply a large Paragraph Shading to the left or right on multicolumn text, the Shading overlaps the text. (Also obscuring text!)

    Thanks for reporting this issue. We have seen this issue being reported by some users ever since Paragraph Shading as a feature was introduced in InDesign.

  3. Incorrect ligatures in InDesign 2024

    In Indesign 19.0.1, ligatures are replaced incorrectly in German. Comparing these with the same document in 18.5.1, where they appear correct, this appears to be a bug in the new version. One screenshot is from INDD 2023 and the other from INDD 2024.

  4. Keyboard shortcuts to change case not working on Windows

    Keyboard shortcuts to change case of lines of text is no longer working. Apart from Alt-T to get up the text menu, I'm now having to use the mouse to select the further options to change to Title case. The sequence Alt-T-E-T, no longer works. As I frequently have many entries which need unifying each time I use it, this once useful feature is sorely missing. Please can you fix it Adobe?

  5. Bug in Adobe World-Ready Composer for Kannada Language

    Attached are Adobe Indesign document, Scribus (v1.5.3) document, PDF outputs.

    Fonts used: Hubballi available at https://github.com/erinmclaughlin/Hubballi/blob/master/build/Hubballi-Regular.otf

    Tunga: Available in Windows 10 as part of Kannada language pack.

    Scribus uses "Harfbuzz" text shaping engine. It doesn't any issue shaping Kannada text, except for one case; U+0CCD U+200D which is canonical equivalence of U+200D U+0CCD. Harfbuzz has accepted this bug and will be fixed in the next release. https://github.com/behdad/harfbuzz/issues/435 https://github.com/behdad/harfbuzz/issues/341

    Adobe indesign Adobe World-Ready Composer has lots of bugs with shaping Kannada text.

  6. Dictionary Hyphenation in Uppercase ignored (German)

    Custom hyphenation settings are ignored for uppercase words in user dictionary (at least in german).

    Example:
    dictionary entry: "kro~~~nach" (select field "case-sensitive" not set)

    Expected behaviour:

    Lorem ipsum Kro-
    nach dolor sit amet kro-
    nach

    Actual behaviour:

    Lorem ipsum Kron-
    ach dolor sit amet kro-
    nach

    Workaround:

    Enabling "Case-sensitive" and adding lowercase and uppercase version leads to correct hyphenation.

  7. When adding a list to a Right to Left Paragraph, tab leader disappers

    1. InDesign (Middle East) 18.1.0.51

    2. In a Right to Left Text Frame type a few words in a Right to Left Paragraph direction, following by tab with a period leader definition and then type a any any number so you will get dots between the last word and number (like in TOC). See in the attached image. Selceet one of the list options (numbering or bullets) to see the tab leader disaapers.

    3. Numbers or Bullets should be added at the begining without change the rest of the text.

  8. Menu item "Convert footnotes and endnotes" missing

    Although my software is up to date, the option "Convert footnotes to endnotes" is missing from my "Type" menu item (image). The interface is in portuguese, but you can see there are only four itens on the footnote/endnote area, the fifth ("Convert footnote to endnote") is really missing...
    I tried unistalling and installing InDesign again from Creative Cloud but it didn´t solve this issue. This menu item is also unavailable on Edit>Menus...

  9. Optical Kerning issues after recent v15 update

    After the recent update (v15.0), I am having issues with Optical kerning, specifically with the font Noto Serif Khmer (Cambodian font). The kerning is completely off. I've opened the file in v14.0.3 and everything works fine in that version.

  10. Cmd/Ctrl+Backspace and Cmd/Ctrl+Delete bugs

    Hi,

    Cmd/Ctrl+Backspace and Cmd/Ctrl+Delete bugs act erratically in latest InCopy (13.1) on Mac and Windows: contrary to all other apps and InDesign Story Editor, they delete words from seemingly random side of the cursor.

    Actual result: Cmd+Del often deletes from left hand side, Cmd+Backspace often deletes from right hand side of the cursor.

    Expected result: Cmd/Ctrl+Del always deletes the word to the right of the cursor; Cmd/Ctrl+Backspace always deletes a word from to the left of the cursor.

  11. BUG: Changes aren't tracked for bottom-right table cell

    The last cell in a table is a “dead” cell as far as Track Changes is concerned. If you copy cells from another row and paste them in the last table row, if the selection you are pasting into contains the last cell in the table, the pasted text will not be marked as a change. Likewise, inserting a new row in a table as the last row via drag and drop isn’t marked as an insertion at all.   12. Duden-Hyphenation changes the language in preferences

    After setting Duden hyphenation in Preferences, the next time the menu is opened, it will change to "1996 Alte Rechtschreibung" instead of "2006 Neue Rechtschreibung". (only on WIN-machines?!?)

  13. BUG: spell-checker not automatically applied after pasting text

    When pasting text into a new frame, the correct language (german 2006 in my case) for spellchecker is selected, but not applied to the new text. I need to select the the text and choose a different language for spell-check and then change back to the correct language, then it works.

    A pain in the a**, if you have to copy-n-paste many snippets from different documents to single frames.

  14. Paragraph shading not aligned in justified text when optical alignment is on

    If optical margin alignment (story) is ON the paragraph shading doesn't align on the right margin of justified text. hyphens seem to push the edge of the shading out. This is in build 13.1.1 but is also reported in 15.0.0.155. I cannot update to the newest version without buying a new computer—so I won't be anytime soon or maybe ever.   15. Glyph substitution not working with certain Oriya and Bengali glyphs

    The following words in cannot be reproduced in InDesign. It seems the glyph substitution is not working in about 1% of cases.

    র‍্যানিবিজুমাব — Bengali
    ମହତ୍ଵପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ — Oriya
    ସ୍ଵେଚ୍ଛାକୃତ — Oriya
    କିମ୍ଵା — Oriya

    It looks fine above, in any text editor, or in any Microsoft app, but does NOT look right in any Adobe app I tested, such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop CC 2019 and 2020 of each.
    I am applying the World-Ready Composers.
    I have tried copy+pasting the text from Word and also tried the Place command in InDesign.
