  1. Feature gone missing, InDesign

Shift/Command - or + NO LONGER WORKS! What happened????????? How can anyone design without this feature. 3.0hr on phone with Adobe, no solutions, sent to this screen to write out Help!

This command did work, now it's GONE! Will need to cancel Adobe because it's useless without this command! The solution they gave me, made images squished and unusable. No designer will be able to use InDesign.

  4. Paste Charactes Styles like you Paste without Formatting

What if I can paste a Character style to a selected text from another selected text. You can paste text on another styled text to inherit its style, why not the opposite too.
In my attached example, I want "Martes" to look like "Domingo", to make it faster I think of copying Doming over "Martes", then retype Martes... too many steps.
If I had "paste style" I would make "Martes" look like "Domingo" with a quick shortcode.
I know, I know. There is such thing as Character Styles, but they are not always useful since sometimes I only need a…

  5. Align to the Top & Bottom of a Text Frame in InDesign [Smart Paragraph Styles]

    Hi everyone geometry vibes

I’m working on an InDesign layout and want to align text precisely to the top or bottom of a text frame while keeping the formatting flexible.

Does anyone have a good workflow for achieving this with Smart Paragraph Styles? I’m especially interested in a method that works consistently when the text length changes.

Any tips, settings, or examples would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

Urdu and Arabic users migrating from InPage to Adobe InDesign face a major usability issue with RTL cursor navigation.

    Currently, in RTL text:
    - Right Arrow moves cursor visually left
    - Left Arrow moves cursor visually right

While technically correct under Unicode bidi logic, this behavior is unintuitive for many professional Urdu newspaper designers who are accustomed to InPage-style visual cursor navigation.

    Request:
    Please add an optional preference:

    "Visual RTL Cursor Navigation"

    so users can choose:
    1. Logical movement (current behavior)
    2. Visual movement (InPage-style)

This would greatly improve Urdu, Arabic, and Persian publishing workflows.

Feature Request: InPage-Style Urdu Nastaliq Kerning, Positioning, and Composition Engine for Adobe InDesign

    Dear Adobe InDesign Team,

I would like to request major improvements to Urdu Nastaliq publishing support in Adobe InDesign.

Although InDesign supports right-to-left languages, it still lacks many professional Urdu composition features that are available in InPage and are essential for newspapers, magazines, books, and educational publishing.

The most important request is the introduction of an InPage-style Urdu Nastaliq Composition Engine.

    Requested Features:

    1. InPage-style Urdu Kerning Engine
    • Automatic contextual kerning between Urdu characters.
    • Ligature-aware spacing adjustments.
    • Removal of excessive gaps between words and letters.
    • Font-specific optimization for:

  8. indesign 2024 version needed!!!

Hi, I need a 2024 version of Indesign because my INDD file shows damaged. The only way to recover is to open it with the old version which it was created from. This is very important to me. Thank you

  9. How Strict Is the 4 Font Sizes Rule in Real Projects?

    Hi everyone,

I’m a bit confused about the rule of using only 4 font sizes. Should this rule apply to the entire website or just per page (including header and footer geometry dash scratch )?

For example, on blog pages I prefer 18px for readability, but on e-commerce product pages 16px works better for labels and compact layouts.

How do you handle font sizing when a site has both long-reading content and more functional pages?
Do you keep one consistent scale across the whole site, or adjust per section?

Would love to hear your thoughts!

  10. Large UI – Is there a way to make it smaller?

    Hi everyone, survival race

Even at the smallest available UI size, everything still feels too large for me. In previous versions, I was able to use a much smaller (tiny) UI setting, which worked perfectly.

Is there any way to reduce the UI size further?
    I’m using a 1080p HP laptop screen.

Thanks in advance for your help!

  11. Improved Animation Features and Native Video Export in InDesign

Improved Animation Features and Native Video Export in InDesign
    Dear InDesign Development Team,
My name is Eldad Pnini, and I manage a graphic design studio that relies heavily on Adobe InDesign -
not only for print design, but also for digital content creation.
Currently, InDesign offers basic animation capabilities, but we believe there is significant untapped potential. At our studio, we use InDesign to design banners, landing pages, social media posts, and stories - and simple animations (like entrance, exit, movement, fade, etc.) are a daily need. We would greatly appreciate seeing major improvements to the animation tools in future…

  12. Comment

It will be good to have InDesign for Web and allow users to comment and collaborate with each other like Figma or Canva. So many back and forth handoffs can be avoided in the publishing world just by enabling these features.

  13. Interactive forms in Indesign

Find it important to have the Acrobat-form options mirrored in Indesign. e.g. "save the document" is not available. at the moment every form needs to be reworked in Acrobat, leaving lots of space for failures and mistakes.

  15. Typesetting by Prompts

In the current technology improvements especially on Gen AI, like to integrate an option in InDesign on handling various tasks including the layout adjustments with simple customized prompts, say to move the figure to top of current page, adjust the spacing headings above and so on

  16. InDesign Server on Windows Server Core OS

Add support for running InDesign Server on Windows Server Core OS.
Core OS has a smaller resource footprint and is less vulnerable from a security standpoint than Server Standard. Some orgs including ours prefer to migrate to that OS where possible for this reason.

  17. Allow Text to Image to create non-standard image sizes, regardless of aspect ratio (i.e. make “frame dimensions” actually work for any size)

Being able to use Text to Image to actually create a graphic that honors the “frame size” option would be a game changer. Often when laying out copy I have incidental space left over that would be perfect for a graphic, but does not conform to standard aspect ratios. Especially for long, thin areas such as header or footer images, cropping produces an “unreadable” image, and no amount of fiddling will change that.

  18. Extract the Pixel's or Edge's X & Y coordinates of the Shapes or lines used in Indesign pages to a Geometry XML file/CSV /Excel/Text file.

We are trying to figure out a method to extract the X & Y coordinates in a excel or CSV file or any kind of report file, from a given page partitioned with straight horizontal and vertical lines to forming square and rectangular blocks/shapes from it. Now, we want to extract the dimensions of the shapes (squares and rectangles). If there is any way we could extract the pixels (X & Y coordinates of the edges) shown in screenshot considering the edges of the page main boundary (line in pink) as well as inner blocks/boxes formed from the lines (blue…

  20. AI-powered design assistance

To improve Adobe InDesign for <a href="https://www.cubix.co/mobile-app-development"> mobile app development </a> design, we could integrate AI-powered design assistance that suggests layout enhancements, color schemes, and typography adjustments in real-time, tailored specifically for mobile interfaces. Additionally, introducing robust real-time collaborative editing features would allow multiple designers and developers to work on the same project simultaneously with version control and live feedback options. Moreover, developing an advanced asset management system with cloud integration, AI-driven tagging, and easy retrieval of graphics, fonts, and templates would streamline the mobile app design process significantly.
