Fix for this issue is available in the latest InDesign 2026 release version 21.6
Pl. update to this latest release when it becomes available for you in the CCD app and let us know how it works for you.

Try changing the user interface settings and restarting ID. Then make sure ID is in fullscreen size (green plus) before you open a new doc. This seems to have fixed it for me.
I have the user interface set to “small” and made it large and then back to small. I had to restart ID a few times.
