I went back to InDesign 2020 build 15.0 and spellchecking is now working. I've had other serious issues with build 15.0.2. It is very buggy.

With me, the problem is not nearly as severe with 15.1.1 as it was with the previous versions. It is still happening, but closing and reopening the InDesign document resolves the issue with unfound fonts.
What is odd is that the only app on my Mac (Catalina 10.15.6) that is unable to find fonts is InDesign. Why is that an expensive, subscription, professional app can't find fonts, when every other app can? It makes no sense.
It almost seems that InDesign purposely introduced the font problem to force users to only use Adobe Fonts.
