   Hi,

   This issue has been fixed in our latest release. Please update your InDesign and follow the steps mentioned in below link, for fixing this issue.
   https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/file-search-does-not-work.html

   Above mentioned steps are required only once. So, that existing files are included inside search index.

   I reported it about a year ago, the next update fixed the problem, then the immediate update after this is reappeared. Clearly Adobe is using junior programmers who have absolutely no idea what is needed. Adobe is flushing the quality of their apps down the toilet and do not appear to care whatsoever - truly frustrating as I rely on InDesign. Now even Illustrator and PhotoShop are showing problems. Once Affiniity comes out with a layout app to go along with their Illustrator and PhotoShop knockoffs - I will be dumping Adobe completely and forever.
