If you don't want to install the beta version or to downgrade, you can fix this by creating a new file from scratch. Avoid using documents created in previous versions for now.

    InDesign 15.1 x 64

Instead of inserting number as footnote reference, after the last update, InDesign insert an ss. Also does for the footnote number in the bottom (footnote mark).

P.S. Solution: Make a new doc from scratch, do not use something created in a previeous version.

As someone commented before, until Adobe will solve this bug, the solution is to make the page number into another file and copy/paste it. It works this way.

    InDesign 15.1 x 64, Windows 10
After updating to the 15.1 version, the page numbers ceased to render correctly. They have changed, both in the doument pages and in the master pages, and appears now as SS instead of numbers.
