An error occurred while saving the comment Stephen Nixon commentedIt seems that InDesign CAN do this, though it is confusing how to access them.
In the "Character" panel options/hamburger menu, there is "Superscript" and "Subscript" at the top level, which will apply fake superscript/subscript. However, these options are also found under the "OpenType >" menu item, and the Superscript/Superior and Subscript/Inferior options there will activate OpenType Features sups and subs, respectively.

Thanks for your work on it, Abhinav. :)
I'm hoping that your team can prioritize it, as it's definitely one of the most important recent developments in typography, and InDesign is one of the most valuable use cases for variable font control.

How is this not possible? Do you just expect users to always draw rectangles to specifically size gaps, or is there some other workaround that I and others are missing?
