Why the hell did you guys make this change to the endnotes?! It was fine in 2017 but now, I cant get my them to appear right after the article, they're placed on a separate page? I thought you guys had designers and creatives in mind, this is NOT how we should be working. Imagine 2017 having better functionality than the later versions. At least give us the ability to turn this feature on or off.

I don't want to use a script, I don't want to manually move the endnotes box because that could cause small spacing inconsistencies.

Seems to me that Indesign 2017 is the last really good version.

    FIX THIS!!

Yes this exactly. When doing a file > place of a word document that has endnotes why does it place them into a separate text frame on a separate page? I want them to stay in the same text box as the rest of the article. (I do magazine layout). When clients make changes it doesnt reflow correctly. We have style sheets that have specific spacing above and below and this feature makes it extremely frustrating trying to flow in galleys only to find out the endnotes are completely separate from the rest of the article. Please give us the option to either toggle it on or off. My team had to revert back to 2017 just because of this
