28 votesIn the latest InDesign Prerelease build (20.2.0.30), available via Creative Cloud Desktop App, this issue has been fixed.
If you are not part of InDesign's Prerelease program and would like to join and try out the latest Prerelease build, please do the following:
* Go to https://www.adobeprerelease.com/
* Sign in with your Adobe ID (the Email ID associated with your Adobe account)
* Select ‘Available Programs’
* Find ‘InDesign Prerelease’ and click ‘Join’
* Once you’ve joined, go to the Creative Cloud Desktop Application on your machine, click on 'Apps' in the section on the left
* Select the 'Pre-release' tab – there you will find the InDesign (Prerelease) build
* To check the Build number of the Prerelease build, hover the cursor over the name – you will see the Build number 'v20.1.0.070'
* Select ‘Install’.

Fix for this issue is now available in the latest InDesign Release version 20.1 (Build 20.1.0.71), available via Creative Cloud Desktop application.
Please update your InDesign application to this latest version to get the fix.

I have a similar issue, except my indesign takes all the screen after quitting the CMD+W view. I'm working on mac sequoia 15.1.1 and indesign 20.1
I have a second monitor connected, but the main indesign window is on the built-in monitor.
