We have made some Performance Improvements in the latest InDesign Release 2025 (Version 20.1), available via Creative Cloud Desktop application. This issue has also been fixed as part of performance improvements.
Please let us know if you still face slowdown while doing basic operations in this latest InDesign release.

225 votesFix for this issue is available in the latest InDesign 2026 release (21.2.0.30) and InDesign 2025 LTS release (20.5.2.078), please update to this release from CCD app.

An error occurred while saving the comment -
I am looking forward to trying the beta, however, I applied to the prerelease program, downloaded, but when I launch the app, I get a message saying the Beta has expired...
Edit: on further investigation, it seems that despite signing up to the Prerelease program, I don't see the option for pre-release app, through either web or the desktop app (previously I had erronously tried to download from 'Beta' - which appears to be incorrect)
