Also started for us with Update to 16.x. 15.x is still displaying bold fonts fine. When opening the same files in 16.x the bold font just disappears. No Error messages or missing font note upon opening the file. When will this issue be fixed?

We had big hopes that 2022 release would fix this issue but unfortunately it still persists.
However, after a long chat session with adobe support we would like to share a workaround that isn't really a long term solution but might work as a temporary fix for some users.
It seems like the adobe creative cloud type management is conflicting with the system installed fonts starting with release 16.x onward. We uploaded the font files to the creative cloud management ("Add fonts to creative cloud" tab in the desktop app) and then deleted the font files in the system folder (in our case windows 10). After that the fonts worked fine in adobe apps.
As mentioned, not really a great long term solution, as deleting the system font files means they can't be used in any other apps but it does the trick for now.
Hope this can help others with this frustrating bug.
