    Same thing happens to me. I don't use external monitors. When the red blocks appear, other functionalities (like selecting!) don't work, it's like the cursor clicks displaced from where it is located and additionally can't grasp anything. Changing the view (W) and zoom will normally help, but sometimes I have to close the document to fix it. Very annoying.
