Thanks for the info. This is indeed correct that since the various artboards come in as a layers the dimensions are of the entire document which can be problematic. Adding this to our backlog.

Indesign 16.2.1. Mac Catalina 10.15.7
This seems to happen frequently to me.: I have one indesign document open and all fonts are available and recognized. I will copy and paste the text box into a new InDesign document and the font shows up missing/highlighted! Very frustrating!
Thoughts/solutions much appreciated!

Ideally this should be the same as placing layer comps from Photoshop into InDesign
