    The fix of the issue is now available in the latest InDesign 2022(v17.0.0.96). We recommend you upgrade to the latest version for the fix.

    If you are unable to see the update, go to the Creative Cloud application and click on the context menu on the top right and click on Check for App Updates.

    I ran into this problem, although I had a white background showing up. I used PhotoShop to remove the background from a JPEG, saved it as a PS file. When I pulled it into InDesign I kept getting the white background. I had several images prior to this without this issue, so I was baffled why it was showing up now. I eventually copied one of my other images in InDesign, then placed the problem image file and the background was gone. Not sure what is going on, but that was the only way I could solve the issue.
