   The fix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign – that is, InDesign 15.0.3.

   Hey changing this to "Hunspell" does work for me - but I find that InDesign defaults to the the previous settings from time to time - it can't save those settings so I have to check changing it back. But at least I can check spelling now.
